
WHO WE ARE
An aerospace engineer from background, Jean-Philippe started his career with the French aerospace industry, before switching to an international path. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University and a Master in Aerospace Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris.
After fifteen years in the automotive industry spent between Europe and China, Jean-Philippe moved back to the space industry with the global communications satellite operator SES, in a Business and Corporate Development position with focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
Jean-Philippe then founded Sperantia Space Solutions in 2018 to serve space projects in Asia and beyond, leveraging experience in satellite business development and passion for new space.
Sperantia’s initial projects ranged from consulting for GEO satellite operators to developing business for on-orbit services start-ups and leading overseas market access for new launch services companies in China.
From 2019 to 2023, Jean-Philippe led international business development for Momentus, a U.S. space infrastructure company operating orbital service vehicles, from the proof-of-concept spacecraft until the two inaugural commercial missions.
Most recently, as Head of Sales for RFA, Jean-Philippe spearheaded a truly global commercial push, bringing in and building on an extensive network through both new and legacy space industry across the world, making tangible inroads for RFA ONE ahead of its first flight in 2024.
Established in Singapore since 2014, Jean-Philippe is father of four children, passionate about space history and rocket building, and thrilled about the potential that lays ahead in terms of transforming mankind into a cosmic species.
Sperantia Space Solutions brings to space projects sound business acumen, deep knowledge of the global launch and satellite industry, and a worldwide network of potential partners and customers.
Jean-Philippe created Sperantia Ltd in January 2018 in Hong Kong with the objective to offer
consulting services in the space and satellite industry, in Asia and globally.
Sperantia Space Solutions started commercial operations in April 2018 with a regional GEO satellite operator, with multiple European, Asian and U.S. customers added to its growing portfolio since.
